A Timeline of our Journey

August 2008 - Started trying to conceive
September 2009 - OBGYN had me start charting temps for 3 months (they looked normal - she wanted to play the "wait and see" game)
February 2010 - Self referral to RE - scheduled HSG and Sperm count for DH
HSG one week later - found blocked tubes: RE suggested going straight to IVF instead of surgery to remove blockage. "I'm young and a good candidate"
March 2010: 2nd Opinion with Doctor from Jackson - said IVF was the way to go. Loved him. Decided to do IVF in Jackson instead of Baton Rouge
May 2010 - IVF #1: Bravelle, Menopur, and Ganerellix Cancelled due to no response to stim drugs - no follicles
June 2010 - IVF #2: Follistim, Menopur, Lupron, 3 small follicles that never grew- Cancelled due to poor response
July 2010 - Clomid Challenge to check ovarian reserve
Diagnosed with Poor Ovarian Reserve (explains poor response to meds)
November 2010 - IVF #3: Follistim, Femera, Menopur: 5 Follicles, made it to ER but only 2 eggs retrieved, 1 fertilized and transferred, BFN - Doc suggests Donor Eggs
December 2010 - Schedule a phone consult with CCRM

January 24, 2011 - Phone Consultation with Dr. Surrey

February 10, 2011 - One Day Work Up at CCRM

March 10, 2011 - Follow Up Phone Consult with Dr. Surrey

March 16, 2011 - Lap. Surgery - found deformed tubes, practically none at all

March 25, 2011 - First Acupuncture Appointment

May 26, 2011 - start Lupron and Saizen injects

May 28, 2011- start stims

May 31, 2011 - fly to Denver

June 10, 2011: Egg Retrieval

June 13, 2011: Transfer

June 22, 2011: light positive on HPT

June 24, 2011: Positive blood test. I'm Pregnant!
September 29, 2011: Ultra sound shows it's a girl
February 28, 2012: Baby girl is born

November 2015: We're ready for a second baby! Schedule phone consult
December 3, 2015: Phone Consult with Dr. Surrey. He wants cycle day 3 labs before we go forward
December 14, 2015: Day 3 labs shipped to CCRM
December 30, 2015: Follow up phone consult with Dr. Surrey. Labs don't look great. Wants to do a work up.
January 5, 2016: ODWU scheduled (I had to call)
February, 5, 2016: ODWU at CCRM: Result - use donor eggs
February 20, 2016: Phone consult with donor coordinator at SDFC

Hotels, Flights, and Rental Cars

One Day Workup
Flight: Southwest
Hotel: Hampton Inn $46/night
Rental Car: Hertz $15.95/day
-booked hotel and car through Hotwire.

Surgery
Flight: Southwest
Hotel: Staybridge Suites $59.00/night
Rental Car: Hertz $63.95/day
- booked hotel and car through hotwire

Main stay for IVF
Flight: Southwest
Hotel: The Marriott Townsuites. 2 bedroom suite $109/night
with CCRM patient rate
Rental Car: Enterprise - $400 for 2 weeks with CCRM code
(small SUV)
*I booked everything individually for this stay since it mattered where we stayed, especially with baby nephew in tow. We really needed a 2 bedroom suite for him and most hotels give great rates for CCRM patients anyway.

Things we did to save money:
1. Got a Chase credit card to earn points towards hotels and flights
2. Joined Southwest frequent flyer program
3. Joined Marriott Rewards program - with the amount of points we're earning we'll end up getting a free flight later on
4. Booked through Hotwire for the ODWU and surgery since it didn't really matter too much where we stayed, etc.
